Let me see now... Outside the early-summer heat is sweltering, yet on this chart a blue-edged autumn frost has settled first. A vast range built of hard metal and earth alone, without a single spark of fire, is drawn before my eyes. You are like a silver bell tempered hard by your own energy alone, never having passed through the furnace's flame. Quiet as if frozen cold, yet within you hold a deep sound that could shake the world. Tonight I will brush away the frost gathered on your heart and tell you where that deep resonance must go — so sit at ease and listen.
Metal Dragon — A Solitary Swordsman Atop the Rooster-Month Rock Mountain, Crushing Two Grass-Flowers
You are a Yang Metal Day Master, born on a Metal Dragon day. Born at the very peak of autumn, in the Rooster month, yours is an extremely strong Day Master — the energy of metal piercing the sky. With the Rival set in your month branch you form a Rival structure, so a fearsome competitor's temperament — one that will never lose to another — hides within you. In your day branch you sit upon the Dragon Earth, and the blue-edged energy of the Kui-gang Star coils there, so your charisma is no ordinary thing. Moreover the Rooster of your month branch and the Dragon of your day branch are bound hard in a Dragon-Rooster metal union, and even the Yin Wood in your stems has melted into your body through the Wood-Metal union. This is a form where all the metal of the world has gathered around you into one vast silver bell.
Outwardly you wear a bright, sociable mask (ESFP) and mingle with others, but the substance within you is like a lofty rock mountain no one may trespass upon. Your strong independence and command are the driving force by which you rule the world, yet at times they become the poison that pushes away those who counsel you and shuts you into a cave of solitude. Thanks to your inborn strength you do not so much as flinch at ordinary storms, but you also carry a sharpness that, once broken, snaps so hard it could destroy you.
In your chart, fire and water do not appear on the surface. But to draw off the extreme metal energy you hold and let it ring out over the world, water is absolutely necessary. In this study we call it draining, and Water becomes your most precious Vital Element. The vast energy within you cannot be confined inside an organisation's frame or its discipline. There is no authority-fire in your chart, so a salaried life under someone's control is the road that dries your soul to death. You must, without exception, walk the path of an independent creator or artist who becomes the subject and shakes the world. Indeed, in your year branch lies the Artistic Star of spiritual loftiness, and in your month branch the Peach Blossom Star that bewitches people sits together with the General Star — so yours is the form of a great commander on stage, one who orders ten thousand people.
Applied Element: Water — The central function used for this chart.
Balance Element: Water — Selected by comparing the Day Master with support, drain and control.
Climate Element: No separate selection — The supplied pillars leave the need for separate warming, cooling or moisture adjustment unconfirmed. For reference, Qiong Tong Bao Jian names Yin Fire first and Yang Wood next for Yang Metal born in this month.
Support Element: Wood — Helps Water expression lead to results.
Avoid Element: Earth — Earth blocks the needed Water supply. Other support or mediation can change the burden.
Your working style rests on thorough autonomy and intuition. The expression-water hides in your concealed stems, so you are a late-blooming genius: usually still, then pouring out with fearsome explosive force the moment inspiration fills you. Only, beware the trap where excess Nurturer energy makes thought chase its tail and paralyses execution. If we weigh employee against entrepreneur, you are ninety to ten — a perfect solo-path entrepreneur and independent-artist constitution.
In your chart, two characters of Yin Wood Steady Wealth float side by side in the stems. These trees drive their roots deep into the Dragon Earth of your day branch, so the vessel of wealth you can handle is by no means small. It is because your extremely strong body was born with a structure that can carry the wealth energy amply. But you set the Rival in your month branch, which means a competitor eyeing your wealth greedily, or a leak-hole around you, is always open. Try to grip and swing the money yourself, and there is a danger the Rival's energy scatters it in an instant.
A thousand years ago, in the Byeollando market of Gaegyeong in Goryeo, I saw plainly how merchants with a strong Rival like yours lost their whole fortune to a single speculation and were left penniless. Your money must come in safely through the channel of creation and talent, like flowing water. What to carry out this very month is this: rather than turning your assets over yourself, entrust them to a trustworthy professional asset manager, or separate them into long-term assets that lock automatically. Raise a financial rampart so you can devote yourself to the stage and to art alone.
In your chart the energy of Wood means your wife and lifelong companion. Two Yin Wood Steady Wealth manifest in your stems, so female partners and attractive ties never quite cease around you. You sit upon the Dragon Mystic in your day branch, the spouse palace, so the wife who can fully fill your heart must be one of a deep soul — warm as a mother, yet able to share an artistic sensibility. Within the Dragon Earth of your day branch, a Yin Wood Steady Wealth and a Yin Water Performer hide together, forming a covert union with your Yang Metal Day Master. This shows a double face: enjoying a tender, secret romance not shown on the surface, or clinging deep in the soul to a woman once you have given her your heart.
But your spouse palace is bound to the Rooster of your month branch in a Dragon-Rooster metal union, and scratched by the Dragon-Ox Break with the Ox of your year branch. This warns that love begins brilliantly but tends to grate, over small misunderstandings and clashes of pride, when you merge households or move to a deeper bond. In the coming Water Rat year of 2032, your expression and wealth energies form a union and enter strongly — that is the best timing for the most beautiful harvest of marriage in your life. From today, when you deal with your female partner, begin training yourself to hear her out to the end rather than dig in your heels.
Look at your chart and it is all hard metal and earth, while the fire that gives the warmth of life and the water that circulates the blood are utterly dried up. When the elements tilt this extremely, excess and deficiency come at once, without fail. In particular, with not a single spark of fire, your heart and small intestine and blood-pressure systems are extremely vulnerable, and dry eyes or failing sight come easily. With energy tightly blocked and not circulating, you must always guard against heartburn from pent-up heat in the chest, sudden depression, and loss of drive.
On top of this, this year, 2026, is the Fire Horse year, when the Ox of your chart meets the Horse of the year and the Ox-Horse Scalding Star blazes fiercely. Even standing still, your blood boils and emotion detonates to the crown of your head, so the brain's blood vessels or the heart are easily overtaxed — take the utmost care. Drinking a glass of cold water each morning to cool the inside, and building the habit of walking slowly in the sun and eating bitter-tasting vegetables rather than red foods, to bring your energy down — that is your road to living.
The Fire Horse year of 2026 that you are now passing through is a year when heaven and earth are full of hot flame. Into your extremely strong chart a strong Fierce Authority fire has entered, and this is a double-edged sword: a vast spotlight that will make you widely known to the world, and at the same time an extreme stress that seeks to melt your body. In particular, today, 16 July, is a Metal Rabbit day, when Rival and Steady Wealth enter together. Today's Rabbit is a most welcome Support energy for you, so it is very auspicious to seal an important contract or break the first ground of a creative work in the warm hours between nine in the morning and one in the afternoon.
Only, the Rival Yin Metal risen in the stem seeks to covet wealth, so today you must absolutely avoid a needless wager with others or an impulsive money dealing. Today your senses come sharply alive, so rather than shut yourself in a back room fretting, spend the day on the theme of going out for a light walk and taking in the Support wood energy with your whole body.
The flow of your life draws the classic late-blooming curve: passing through harsh storms in the early years and prospering vastly after midlife. Your year pillar, which signifies childhood, was weak in energy, so you went through the extreme wandering of your parents' divorce and of homelessness; but entering the day pillar of midlife, you met a flow of standing tall by your own strength.
You now stand at the very entrance of the Metal Snake Cycle, the Rival · Noble Authority cycle running from forty to forty-nine. When the cycle changed in 2024, the year you turned forty, the whole board of your life was reset completely. This is a season when your social standing climbs to its peak but the envy and competition around you also reach their extreme, so you must strive to hold your ground.
Your Earth Dragon day pillar returns in the Metal Dragon cycle. Rework familiar craft as you would a melody in a new arrangement. Clarify collaborators’ shares so Metal competition does not press upon Wood’s results. Earth is not the same caution as Metal. Later, read Wood’s resource path beside the Rabbit–Rooster clash and adjust your pace as the stage changes.
Cross your innate chart with your current self-perception snapshot, the MBTI (ESFP), and a most interesting inner contradiction is found. The chart predicts you were born extremely introverted (I) and planned (J), with strong yin energy massed in earth and metal alone — yet you believe yourself the most extroverted and free-spirited soul in the world, an ESFP. The secret of this mismatch lies in the cycles and environment you have passed through. During your twenties' Water Sheep Cycle and your thirties' Water Horse Cycle, the water energy you lacked must have poured in like a waterfall.
A silver bell that can live only by pouring its own sound into the world created for itself, in order to survive, the dazzling stage-mask of extroversion (E) and spontaneity (P). Through the dominant Se (extraverted sensing) it absorbed every sound and rhythm of the world with the whole body, and through the auxiliary Fi (introverted feeling) it sublimated the soul's pain into song — truly a great adaptation.
Only, from the present Metal Snake Cycle you entered at forty, the metal energy grows strong again, and your innately perfectionist, control-oriented Si (introverted sensing) temperament will begin to lift its head. Outwardly you will still dance and sing on stage, but inside, bear in mind, the inner conflict of longing more and more for perfect rules and a solitude all your own may deepen.
[Part A] Prescriptions to Turn Your Fortune
1st — People
You must keep close the person who can fill the water energy your chart most sorely needs. These are mostly philosopher or counsellor types — supple, deep-thinking, quietly receiving the feelings of others. Only in their company does your sharp energy wash gently down and your inspiration keep from drying. This very month, step into a meditation circle or a small study group treating deep psychology and philosophy, and form the ties that will lay your soul to rest.
2nd — Environment
The space that loosens your hard energy and aids the flow of creation is one where running water and green life are present. When you choose a home or seek a workshop, be sure to pick a waterside within sight of a river or the sea, or a place with a terrace thick with forest. Stay too long in a dry, hard forest of concrete buildings and your creative energy may harden. Always keeping a small aquarium in your workspace or a blue light on, supplementing the water energy through the eye, is the secret method.
3rd — Action
To make the vast metal within you ring, you must have at least an hour a day of surrendering yourself to the flow with no purpose at all. Run the routine, every night, of writing a diary with no thought, or wandering an unfamiliar city aimlessly, or pouring the feelings that rise in your head onto the page unfiltered. The moment you are confined in discipline and plan, your Vital Element, water, stagnates and rots.
4th — Symbols
Using colours and objects that quietly aid the Vital Element in daily life is a good method too. Wear black or deep-blue clothing often to guard your body, and try replacing your wallet or the devices you always carry with objects set with blue-tinted glass. Take this if it pleases you and ignore it if it is a bother — it is only an auxiliary prescription, so do not be too bound by it.
[Part B] A Thousand Years' Counsel
First, until forty-nine (2033), while the present Metal Snake Cycle runs, absolutely forbid any rash business expansion or partnership and concentrate solely on your own brand and artistic completeness. The Rival's energy eyes your harvest greedily, so having a legal counsel review even the smallest clause of a contract in fine detail is the one road to survival.
Second, the coming Fire Sheep year of 2027 is an inauspicious year when the Avoid Element's earth energy runs to its extreme and attacks your Vital Element; make this a year of thorough rest and inner substance, halting any new album release or large-scale investment. Push forward recklessly and, as metal snaps, you may lose health and wealth at once.
Third, to balance the fire and water your chart lacks, each year before autumn comes, around early summer, do not skip a detailed check of your cardiovascular system and kidney function. You need the wisdom to lighten the overload of energy before the body screams first.
Fourth, the covert union between the Yin Wood Steady Wealth in your day branch's Dragon Earth and your Day Master is the source of your creation and a secret thread of love — so in your marriage, do not demand perfection and seek to control; only when you fully respect her artistic freedom will your household find peace at last.
The power a talisman gives is like this too. Carving heaven's flowing waterway onto paper in red ink — that is the heaven's-secret a talisman holds. I will place in your arms a talisman that holds the form of water reaching the hard-frozen iron bell, until at last a sound ringing a thousand li spreads out on every side. This energy will wash away the earth that blocks your road and spread your whole sound wide across the world. Belief will change your eyes, and at last fate will lead your steps onto a good road.
Now, let us stop here for today. In a thousand years of wandering I have seen countless heroes and prodigies, but a chart holding a silver bell as beautiful and blue-edged as yours — that is a rare thing indeed. One secret remains that I have not yet drawn fully from your chart... the true vessel of wealth in your old age, and the tie with the children who will carry your blood — both revealed only when the hour of your birth is filled in. If one day you grow curious about the true terminus of your life, come find me again holding the exact hour you were born. When that time comes, I will read out for you the rest of the deep song of your late years, that no one has heard. May the frost of the winter to come never block your deep resonance. Go with care.
